Falling Apart and Other Gifts from the Universe by Catherine Ryan Hyde

A beautiful novel encompassing emotional growth, development of trust, fears and joys. Addie, a reformed alcoholic, grows and changes through her relationship with Jonathan, a homeless teen she allows to live with her. His gentle, thoughtful demeanor reaches her soul even as her life implodes.

For One Moment with You by Debbie Howells

A sweeping novel of a woman’s life on the edge of misery. She departs from her current life with the plan to go to San Jose. As fate would have it, her plane is cancelled and she daringly travels to France, Spain, and Italy. Her last stop is Crete. From there, the story begins with her, unconscious, from a fall, reliving her life in her mind. Back in her twenties, she met a man just before her wedding and she has always wondered what if she cancelled her wedding and stayed with him. Would it have been the best thing for her?

Family Drama by Rebecca Fallon

An amazing novel of lives lived, some of which were lost to time, to choices made. Susan as a young woman, acting in her blood giving her life. Al as a young man loving Susan with his entire heart. Their lives veer between intense closeness and immense distance separation. Their twins, Sebastian and Viola are kept separate from their mother’s career and life thousands miles away, growing up with fractured images and memories.

Very deep, emotional, touching.

Where Are You Now by Jenny Hale

An emotional and very touching story. If you had a chance to heed a voice saying to find someone you once knew and to live your life from then on out, would you heed it? For Ava, heeding the call leads to her second chances-to really connect with her widowed mother, to find her long lost best friend Lucas, to find joy in nature again, and to rekindle her relationship with God. Her journey to wellness after a horrific car accident and near death experience brings all the things she really needs.

Just Say It by Tessa Barrie

A very captivating novel chronicling the life of Lisa, child of an unloving mother, loving father, and a loving stepfather. Her mother is critical and narcissistic, only caring for herself. Lisa learns to shelter her heart and live a life on her own terms. Touching at times, painful at others, a very engaging novel.

Rogue Cowboy by Sinclair Jayne

A secret marriage to protect a young woman then six years of deployment and Cole is in Montana to really start a marriage. Riley is not on board, having spent the six years pretending to be healed from her ordeal and not sharing that she is married. To her, Cole will want out now that the basis for the marriage is over.

Love flows through Cole for Riley and he is determined to make their marriage work. A tough and touching romance.

Tall, Dark and Dangerous Cowboy by Leah Vale

Loved this story! There is so much in it- a criminal intent of ruining the Grit & Grace livestock business. He is out for revenge on Meira, the research expert on bull cows. The owner of the ranch contacts  a PI and former Navy SEAL to track down the culprit. PI Dillon finds he cannot resist Meira even if she is the reason behind the attacks. She cannot resist him either.

Romance and crime combine for a great story.

The Wedding Con by Janine Amesta

A wonderful love and confusion story. The son of a con man is working to get his life changed from a con man’s partner-son to a productive, honest man. The second daughter of a family hot air balloon business is trying to start a wedding venue offering. Between them is the friction of a slow developing romance that creates chemistry just waiting to explode.

The Boy Next Door by Si'an O'Gorman

I have never read Si’an O’Gorman until this novel and will certainly look for her now. This novel is terrific-feel good without being sappy. I loved all of the characters (well, except two) and the story was fantastic. It is easy to read and uplifting.

The Accidental Rewrite by Milly Johnson

A very enjoyable and lively book. Many of the characters are fun and the relationships formed are engaging. It is a comedy of errors at its finest. The typo mistakes of the Daily Trumpet are hilarious.

The Life She Could Have Lived by Laura Pearson

I did not finish this novel, even though I really tried. I had no affinity with the characters and the switching between the two stories did not flow.

Traces of You by Elle Douglas

Book four in the McCarthy Sisters series is a joy to read. It has engaging characters in Ava, Hunter, and Ava’s daughter, Sam-who is Hunter’s daughter but he did not know it. It is a second chance romance bringing Ava and Hunter together. Both of them have a lot of explaining to do regarding Sam.

Love blooms along with the flowers at the Bloom Flower Farm. It is, however, in financial distress. The eldest daughter has come home and begins to figure out what needs to be done to save the farm. A retired bull rider wants the farm land to complete his deceased mother’s wish. Fate steps in and as the two of them fall in love, his failure to share his desire to buy the farm could ruin everything.

Winter Nights at the Bay Bookshop by Jessica Redland

A thoroughly delightful and wonderful novel. The characters of Lars and Lily are divine. I loved the interesting information of Icelandic Christmas traditions woven through the story.

Atticus Arnott's Great Adventure by Caroline James

I am so glad I received an advance copy of this novel. It is truly a delightful read and more than enjoyable. The characters are fun and quirky. The story is filled with the tale of Atticus Arnott’s trip to Spain, to the dismay of his son and delight of his daughter. Adventure springs forth at the all inclusive camp site-meeting people and a lovely lady. At home, his daughter’s marriage is troublesome. His son is filled with outrage that his 70 year old father has embarked on a trip alone in his old Westphalia camper.  A terrific book.

Remain by Nicholas Sparks

A paranormal mystery to ponder as you read. The ghost of a young woman was found dead in her bathroom. Her presence takes form when an architect rents the house. They grow close as he grapples with the mystery of her death. Was it an accident or murder? The end is crazy good.

Could it be Magic? by Fay Keenan

A very delightful and captivating story of friends to lovers. The sweetness of Thea and Nick is so enjoyable as you read about the coming together of long time friends into a love relationship that Neck has desired since they were teens. Even with external and internal problems, their love grows.

Cowboy's Last Stand by Jill Sorenson

Touching romance (and spicy, too) develops between a veteran widow and her husband’s Marine partner. The problem is that he was not forthcoming with his reason for being in her town, Last Chance. The deception swirls inside him as he finds them falling in love.

More than Words by Elena Aitken

Terrific story with plenty of romance along with conflict. Add in an intuitive twelve year old and the love and relationships shine.

Unforgettable Cowboy by Jeannie Watt

Second chance romances are the best and this one is great. A protective cowboy and a feisty cowgirl have a second chance at the romance and love they once had but lost. Very engaging and enjoyable.

The Future Saints by Ashley Winstead

A tremendously powerful look at the ravages of grief when left unchecked. It is not a maudlin story but one filled with emotion, dysfunctional reactions, and grief. The psychological impact on a grieving, addicted sister is incredibly written with emotional truth and painful deepness.
