Homecoming for the Cowboy by Nicole Helm

This is an absolutely terrific book. It has all the elements to create an absorbing read: tension, past promises, chemistry, internal and external struggles. The characters are excellently written to thoroughly convey their emotions and experiences. I loved it!

The Rebel and the Cowboy by Sarah Mayberry

Casey Carmody is a talented musician and song writer working hard on his family’s ranch and never truly dreaming of success in music. He knows where his true demands are: on the ranch working alongside his brothers.
Eva King has been robbed of recognition in mural art by her ex-boyfriend, mentor and co-artist. She is determined to win the job of creating a masterpiece for Marietta’s silo art project.
Sizzling chemistry erupts when they meet and throws them both out of whack. They know it is a short term flame but long term keeps tempting them. Cute story with tension, miscues and meddling abounding.

The Silver Ladies of Penny Lane by Dee MacDonald

Funny, cute and touching describes The Silver Ladies of Penny Lane. It is such an enjoyable novel to read as you learn of the ups and, mostly, downs, of online dating for two ladies both in their early ‘60s. Both are trying to lose weight and find a perfect man. The characters will charm you and make you chuckle often. You will find yourself hoping against hope for terrific outcomes for both ladies.

The Rancher's Secret Love by Paula Altenburg

I really loved The Rancher’s Secret Love: the story, the characters, and the writing. It flows perfectly through the emotions and tense situations that arise for the main characters, Luke and Mara.

Nothing But Trouble by Amy Andrews

This is a super cute story about bringing women back to a small dying town full of single men and of the romance that ensues between the woman promoting the events and a man set against them. CC is stuck in Credence because her bossy boss brought her there. She gets involved in a scheme to enliven the dead town with women and is striving to find and to promote ways to tempt single women to try out Credence. Wade, her bossy boss, is only back in Credence because his father has been ill and needs help on the ranch. He is dead set against the promotion.
There is so much tension between CC and Wade that they fail to see the chemistry there. But it is and on a grand scale.

Lone Star Lawman by Justine Davis

The Lone Star Lawman
Wall meets wall in this delectable novel of sparring personalities fighting an undercurrent of possible love. Lily Jones, reporter, is out to prove the innocence of her deceased fiancĂ©.  She is persistent in hounding Chief Shane Hightower for the undisclosed police material that would prove his innocence. Lily is also the only one to burst Shane’s patience and calm, much to his chagrin. This creates a crack in his resolve-resolve not to fall for Lily and to remain steadfastly single.

Bad Ideas by Missy Marston

This is a crazy book and I loved it! Trudy Johnson lives a sad life: no money, a bad factory job, sad living conditions. She meets a daredevil in the making, Jules Tremblay, who is planning to do a crazy car jump over the local river. He is in no better shape than she is but there is something about him that draws Trudy to him. Enter the world of mishaps and adventures for Trudy, Jules, Claire (Trudy’s mother), and Mercy (Trudy’s niece). Plus, Trudy’s long gone sister returns and all hell breaks loose.

Summer Under the Stars by Catherine Ferguson

Summer Under the Stars is such a lovely book about finding your way though things are messy or sad or just plain tired. Daisy is a hopeful novelist working a menial journalist job and dating Toby. Toby is not the best boyfriend but he comes with a lovely family that Daisy very much needs since her mother died.
Wanting to rekindle their romance, Daisy books a week long getaway to a glamping site owned by a friend of long ago. Toby is not the best of partners on the trip and on a day when he goes into work (which he cannot let go of), Daisy gets lost at night in the forest and meets Jake Steele, a bonafide novelist. They find moments in time to talk and grow to appreciate each other. Daisy is torn: Toby is her steady partner! Jake is something else to her because they have so much in common.
Add to the fray Daisy’s search for her birth mother in the town adjacent to the glamping site. It’s a chance to find her and learn the why’s of her adoption.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
