Double-Edged Reckoning by Nicole Helm

Great mystery! A man found guilty of a murder he claims innocence is released from prison and another woman is murdered in the same property and area. His daughter has been working for fifteen years to clear his name. When the second murder occurs and her father is arrested, she finds the one son that can attest to the violent nature of his father-the one Carly believes is guilty of both murders. An emotional story of brothers with shattered lives uncovering deeply hidden memories of events that could tear them apart.

The Frequency of Living Things by Nick Fuller Goggins

The deep, emotional struggles of three sisters was overwhelming. One sister is a drug addict in prison for a crime she was present at. Her twin is driven by the need and desire to create songs for a long overdue album. The third sister took upon the caregiver role when their usually absent mother was gone. Her drive is to control as much as she can of her and her sisters’ environments. The story is a rough journey for all of them, overly pushing and pulling each other.

It is not an easy read; often it is very difficult to digest.

The House at River's Edge by Rachel Burton

This is an incredible story with two timelines telling of love in WWI and the secrets that love created for a family. The WWI story covers that of a young girl falling for a poet and of the relationship of her brother and their friend. The story of them is compelling and lovely. The war interrupts both relationships and begins a timeline of deeply held family secrets.

In the second timeline, the family of the men begins to unravel when a pre-WWI trunk is discovered in the basement. The daughter of one of the family women is a historical researcher on WWI poets and she begins to research the family’s past with surprising information.

Fortunate Harbor by Davis Bunn

An incredible story of families, fortunes, friendship, and deep abiding love. There is definite intrigue when Curtis Gage returned after twelve years. He immediately engages his teen love, Rae Alden, as his corporation’s lawyer. From there the story rockets into controlled actions by Curtis with unstated motives becoming clear with each chapter. An exciting and intriguing novel.
