Ruby Among Us by Tina Ann Forkner

Lucy’s mother, Ruby, died when Lucy was eight. She has always carried guilt as she felt she was responsible. Coupled with so much mystery around her family, shielded by her grandmother, Kitty, Lucy begins an arduous journey to learn the truth and bring back lost memories of her mother.

A beautiful novel of family and secrets lyrically written so that the truths help rather than destroy. I enjoyed it immensely and look forward to the sequel, Rose House.

The Breakaway by Jennifer Weiner

Abby has a good life-a boyfriend who loves her, a job to pay the rent, and a hard earned conviction that regardless of her size, she is fit and content...until her boyfriend suggests they move in together and doubts appear. A long distance bike tour that she leads causes her to seriously ponder her life, especially with one night stand, Sebastian, in the group.
Relationships, doubts, fears, and love travel with the group as they cycle from Manhattan to Niagara Falls. A very engaging novel.

The Invisible Hour by Alice Hoffman

Mia was raised in a harsh commune community with her mother. The leader is her father but not biologically. Through the words of secretly read books, she learns of life outside the walls of the commune.
Magically beautiful and harsh at times, Mia has a story to tell-all of it real, all of it alive. A story to read and savor.

The Secret Recipe of Ella Dove by Karen Hawkins

Ella Dove had two problems: she never stays in one place for too long and she does not do long term relationships. Both problems collide when she returns to Dove Pond to solve the dilemma of a dream she has every night and the strawberry frosting it leaves on various places on her body. She thinks she knows why and only one person can help Ella.

A very cute and fun book about relationships, love and magic. I thoroughly enjoyed the story.

Striking Gold by Janine Amesta

What an engaging book! The quirks and long held beliefs of Mia and Ross drive an endearing story of things past, present, and future. Sometimes saucy, sometimes spicy, it is a not to miss read.
