This is a fine (meaning lovely, great, captivating) romantic story. Jada Townsend-Matthews’ life is a mess. Donovan Dell’s life is orderly and timed. They meet, they clash, and they give each other what they need. The disasters that ensue only serve to draw them closer together and apart.

Meant to Be is a terrific novel relating a “What If” story that mimics the lives of JFK, Jr and Caroline Bissette. It is a story of a fairy tale-like love, rich man, poor girl. Cara comes from an abusive home that she leaves at eighteen with a prosperous modeling career. Joe comes from a wealthy, noted family but really he has no definite career goals and lives under the pressure of who he is. Their insecurities chase them as they try to be a semi-normal couple.

Enemy to friend novels are so neat. First, there is the establishment of the enemy relationship-the sarcasm, the cutting remarks, the underhanded tricks. Then, a flipped switch-confusing undercurrents, liking each other, trying to change the MO. This novel has it all plus lots of tension and energy.

I loved this journey into paranormal fantasy. The story and characters are engaging.

Enter Declan, son of a Michelin star chef who is able to offer her complete financing. There are caveats to the deal, love and lust brewing for Kasi and Dec, and plenty of stubborn arguments.
