A Month in Provence by Gillian Harvey

Lovely story of how new circumstances enable perspectives on life to change radically for the better. For empty nester widowed Nicky, it is an intimidating time to really look at her life and of what could be. For also widowed Robert, it is time to reflect on all he has abandoned over three years after his loss. For both of them, it is a time of renewal.

The Cowboy's Word by Sinclair Jayne

Very, very, very good book. Love, pain, and doubt create the threads that form a relationship blanket. Bartender Shane has appeared in several Marietta novels and this one is hers and soldier cowboy Remy’s. There is so much going on in Shane and Remy’s narrative and it all runs smoothly together to create a story of relationships-new, old, and strained.

Two Sides of a Secret by Kelly Cain

A political investigator looking for skeletons in the closet for a potential candidate becomes increasingly involved with the person he is investigating. A romance of danger to the career percolates to a boil in this captivating novel.

The Fake Marriage Proposal by Susan Lute

Sweet and cute story of a woman who wants no roots and a man who finally has them. Throw in two twelve year old girls, a cozy town, and family and you have a precious romance.

The Modern Girl's Guide to Magic by Lindsey Hall

A delightful and engaging novel of a witch named Aria with uncontrolled power being called home. Her grandmother needs her to compete in a competition to earn the ownership of an enchanted garden. The grandmother depends on the offerings of the garden for her potions shop. Aria feels a failure as her magic always backfires. Handsome, rich mage Callen is also in the competition. He was bewitched by her when they first met years ago and is determined to help her with both her magic and with the competition. Love blooms among the foliage.

The Predictable Heartbreaks of Imogene Finch by Jacqueline Firkins

A solid five stars for this touching and endearing novel. Imogene and Eliot were friends as children and as teens. He broke her heart and she never answered any of his texts or emails. Back together in the same town, they cannot help but cross paths. I found that the personalities of Imogene and Eliot reached out and grabbed my heart with every insecurity and personal obsessions. I really enjoyed the novel.

We are Family by Beth Moran

An engaging story about friends, family, and love. Relationships are at odds, a life is in ruins, and a grieving mother and teen are seeking their footing. In amongst all of this second chance love has a chance to live again.

The Witches of Bone Hill 5

Ava Morgyn

This is a spooky and chilling story of two women who inherit their aunt’s ancestral home and discover all sorts of strange and eerie ghosts and characters. They seek to uncover the mysteries of their deceased mother and of their ancestors. Beware: there is a grizzly animal event. A really engrossing novel.

Room for Suspicion by Carol Light

Chrys Ward has learned several investigative methods while married to her cop husband. She is very inquisitive in her job of organizing people’s homes and it comes in handy in this mystery. Her unauthorized inquiries of people in a murder case are on point. Terrific mystery with many suspects. This is the first in the A Clutter Crime Mystery Series.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A Match Made in Montana by Elsa Winkler

The second time Annie met Craig, she was falling out of a hammock with her romance novel on a very descriptive page. It was fiery chemistry between them from that point on. However, he was only in Marietta for two weeks and opposed to relationships. She was bent on no relationships, too, after her last disaster. Chemistry or lust or whatever it was pulled them together like magnets until the magnets turned to oppose each other.

Trivialized Pursuit by Mia Heinzman

A very enjoyable story of confusion in love coupled with bits of Trivial Pursuit information. Murphy and Rox each separately harbor love in their hearts for each other. It finally blossoms with brilliant color until the blossom closes. Is it the end of something beautiful or will the sun bring back the blossom?

Scenes of the Crime by Jilly Gagnon

I found this to be a not exactly interesting book. It toggles between times in the life of four friends (one is deceased or missing) and the screenplay about the disappearance by one of the friends.

Dead Man's Wake by Paul Doiron

A boating accident, two dead bodies, and enough suspects to drive you crazy pull together to create a terrific book. Everything is woven in enough ways to create a story that captures your eye and holds it to the end.

Flores and Miss Paula by Melissa Rivero

An intriguing and lovely story of the relationship of a mother and daughter and of their memories of the husband/father they lost. Nearing the end of their thirty year lease on their apartment, both women ruminate on their time there and in the local community. Flores encounters hard decisions in her life sucking job. Paula, her mother, works as a retail associate yearning for more. As the time progresses, both face hard choices, never sharing with each other.

This Spells Love by Kate Robb

Spicy and fun, a crazy story of a spell gone wrong. Gemma just wants to erase ever meeting her ex. She spent four years of her life with him and boom, he just ends it. Her Aunt Liv suggests a spell she found in a magic book just to do this. It all goes wrong and Gemma has an entirely new past and vastly different life. The bad thing is that her best friend Dax does not remember her. Enjoy the pages as Gemma chases Dax to make him remember and all the decisions she has to make.

The Shadow Girls by Alice Blanchard

An excellent thriller develops on the pages as deaths and purely evil forces collide and erupt. Detective Natalie Lockhart is assigned the grizzly death of a local man. The threads of his death twist together as more details emerge. Tightly woven with precise concentration on detail, this

Our Cursed Love by Julie Abe

Remy and Cam-friends since forever. She loves him with her entire being and has finally decided to tell him. But, she is afraid to share her feelings in case she loses his friendship forever. Their trip to Japan offers her a chance to use a magic potion on him. It all becomes a disaster and Remy is desperate to find a way to change things back.

Strictly Off Limits by Debra Holt

A “not with my sister romance” with the brother’s grudge standing firmly in the way. Given a chance at love, Hannah battles her feelings for Connor and her loyalty to her brother. All along she has to work with Connor on a huge charity gala. Working together cements her to him. A blow of the hammer could destroy it all. Connor’s love overtures create a delightful story and smooth out the ridges of Hannah’s fears.
